Are There Any Non-Painkiller Hangover Cures That Actually Work?

Organic Hangover CuresNothing ruins a good night out like the unpleasant morning after.

Let’s face it, you had one too many cosmos and you committed the cardinal sin of refusing any drop of water all night (you need maximum alcohol capacity, I totally get it).

Now that your head is pounding and your stomach is queasy, it’s hard not to rush to the medicine cabinet.

If you haven’t heard by now though, painkillers aren’t always an easy way out.

They have a laundry list of potential harmful side effects on your body.

And just because you’re hungover, that doesn’t mean your blood needs to be thinned or your liver needs to be pummeled with harmful drugs (it’s already working overtime).

A bitter irony of painkillers is that possible side effects are headaches.

Not what we came here for!  In the land of logic, this makes little sense…

So, are there really any organic or natural hangover cures that actually work?

According to Vicky Vlachonis, a pain expert, osteopath and author of The Body Doesn’t Lie, the answer is YES!

Vicky suggests 3 different, natural ways to bust even the toughest hangovers.

You’re going to live, I promise, and your body will thank you later.

Olive Oil
I didn’t say these cures were going to taste like cotton candy but a spoonful of organic olive oil may do the trick in getting you back to your old self.

Olive oil is considered nature’s ibuprofen.

It’s a natural painkiller because it contains oleocanthal, a chemical with anti-inflammatory properties.

Bonus points if you follow it up with a glass of water with the juice of half a lemon.

This adds vital vitamin C that your body has been deprived of thanks to said good night out.

We all know the importance of water, so aim for 8-10 glasses during the day to ward off the nasty hangover.

Pressure Points
Let’s warm up those fingers.

Use your middle and index finger to apply firm pressure on your forehead, in between your “third eye” point.

Close your eyes and apply this pressure for 10-15 seconds.

This can relax your mind and body and relieve some of that stress of the hangover.

And if anyone asks you what you are doing, just tell them that you are a fortuneteller and for $10 you will gladly give them a reading.

Self Healing Trigger Points
A great way to relieve a throbbing headache is to utilize the trigger points in the back of your neck.

With four fingers, find the hollow space right behind your ear.

Hint:  the automatic spot you grab with your hand when you are stressed out.

Apply pressure to this spot with your fingers for 10-15 seconds.

Close your eyes and really try to be mindful.

Doing so may help expedite the hangover and have you feeling better almost instantly.

A Final Word…

Whether it’s a spoonful of olive oil, utilizing pressure points, or self-healing trigger points, realize that there are some natural ways to cure hangovers and get feeling better fast.

And if you combine some of these ideas with the non-painkiller products we suggest here, you’ll be well on your way to conquering just about any hangover!
